VEX Competitions bring STEM skills to life by tasking teams of students with designing and building a robot to play against other teams in a game-based engineering challenge. Tournaments are held year-round at the regional, state, and national levels and culminate at the VEX Robotics World Championship each April.
Reynolds Group were proud volunteers at VEX Robotics National’s Competition in February. We knew being at VEX, our URs had to amaze the young minds of the audience and highlight possible career options in robotics, engineering and automation. We created a simple human like routine which demonstrated a hand shake on approach, followed by receiving an award. The routine was simple and entertaining for the audience. We demonstrated real life robotics with an industry application.
It’s exciting to see more and more schools adopting robotics as a platform to enrich and enhance science, technology, engineering, and mathematics courses, teachers need a programme that allows them to seamlessly integrate curriculum and hardware into the classroom. The UR virtual robot is designed to help students to explore the fundamentals of robotics, engineering and automation design process while learning to use industry-leading software. Students will walk through the design and programme a robot to do simple tasks, while also learning key STEM principles, and robotics concepts.
