The announcement of the move to Level 4 restrictions to contain the spread of coronavirus has created a lot of uncertainty for us all. The services and products Reynolds supplies for the food, beverage and FMCG industries means that Reynolds falls under the category of Essential Business. Therefore we will continue to trade during the Level 4 restrictions, albeit with some caveats, specifically:
- Almost all staff will be operating from home, including service technicians. This may mean some delays if parts need to be sourced from our warehouses, but wherever possible and appropriate we will send parts to customers’ sites in advance.
- For equipment supply, our primary agency vendors continue to supply on normal or near-normal timelines, though this may change depending on the evolving situation in other countries. Locally sourced parts may now be hard to obtain, or will now need to be obtained from offshore. This will likely introduce some delays in supply of equipment.
- Access to customers in more remote areas may be difficult; flying is going to on an emergency basis only. We will not be able to move staff around regions to manage peaks in demand, so there may be delays in service delivery.
- Reynolds has plenty of consumables in stock and more on the way. The recent plunging value of the New Zealand Dollar is going to create some real pressure, however in the short term we have enough stock that we can keep prices stable.
What we would ask is that if you think you may require service or support, please book early. Logistics are going to be getting more difficult, but we will be working hard to support you through these challenging times.
We stand ready to support you,
James Booth.
